Alta Vista

Alta Vista is an established neighbourhood in central Ottawa, its major streets are Walkley Road, Heron Road, Bank Street, Riverside Drive and Alta Vista Drive. This neighbourhood is conveniently located for easy access to downtown and other employment centres. OC Transpo Transitway traverses through Alta Vista, with two stations in the neighbourhood (Pleasant Park and Riverside) as well as two just outside (Billings Bridge and Smyth), which serve as a vital transit link to the rest of the city. Alta Vista is a mixed residential medium density use neighbourhood with somewhat older well-maintained homes, high rise condos, row and townhouses, many schools representing English Public, English Catholic, French Public and French Catholic; churches, and community centres. It also has a large amount of green space and parks.

Alta Vista has easy access to many commercial areas including the Billings Bridge Shopping Centre and the Elmvale Shopping Centre. There are many major and minor commercial uses along Bank Street. The General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital, the Riverside Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. There are also several medical clinics in the neighbourhood.
